Theft of Intellectual Property

CompuSleuth was hired by an engineering firm that believed one of its ex-employees had stolen a key customer, and had taken the firm's intellectual property to his new employer. CompuSleuth investigated eight separate computer systems. By looking at the relevant e-mail and identifying specific CAD drawings, CompuSleuth was able to prove that theft had occurred. One e-mail found by CompuSleuth was from the president of the new employer to his son, outlining the entire scheme. This case had been contested for over 6 months. Once the findings were presented, the defendants quickly settled.
