Computer Security Assessment
Security Vulnerability
A corporate computer security assessment revealed that while audit trails were being produced to monitor computer usage, there was no one assigned with the responsibility for reviewing the logs. The protocol designed to backup all data on regularly scheduled intervals was comprehensive, but there were no copies of the back-up data kept off-site. Copies were not kept in a secured location. Some of the corporate data deemed to be most sensitive was available to employees who had no need for the access. All three of these basic security risks identified by CompuSleuth were easily rectified with little additional cost to the corporation.
